What Sunscreen Should You Add to Your Beauty Arsenal?

Here are some of my top choices that I’ve tried personally:

1.  Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Face Sunscreen: This is a great product at a great price!  I don’t use this everyday but it’s perfect for vacations in the sun!  It comes in either SPF 45 or 60, contains contains moisturizing Antioxidant Vitamins A, C and E.  It’s waterproof and sweatproof!

2.  Clinique Superdefense SPF 25

I use this as a daily mosturizer/ sunscreen, i apply it before my foundation.  As per the clinique website  Skin’s most complete defense against the visible signs of aging in a daily moisturizer. Arms it to fight the visible-effects of emotional stress—which research confirmscan damages skin with effects much like sun and pollution. Helps protect against UVA and UVB. Keeps skin looking better, longer.  Again I have combination skin with an oily t zone and this does not clog my pores.

3.  Clinique Moisture Sheer Tint SPF 15

I like this product for everyday use as well, I will use the Superdefence product if I am going to be wearing foundation or this product for maybe the weekends when I’m not putting on my full makeup!  Its a combination tinted moisturizer/ sunscreen.  Great product, non-oily and comes in four different shades.

These are all great beauty products but even if you don’t think one of these will be right for you please make sure to find a sunscreen and wear it everyday!

Your #1 Beauty Product Must Have

To me the most important beauty product in any women’s beauty arsenal should be a good quality sunscreen.  Research has shown that harmful UVA rays are the main cause of melanoma, not to mention they cause 90% of wrinkles!  So while so many women are willing to soak their skin with wrinkle preventing moisturizers they are not so willing to load up on the sunscreen which is what they really should be doing.

Choosing a sunscreen to apply on your face can be a daunting task, especially for those of us with oily or combination skin, for me I am always worried about clogging my pores.  With all the new sunscreens out there some that promise to reduce the signs of aging, sunspots, wrinkles the list goes on and on it can be pretty overwhelming.

When choosing a sunscreen for your face always keep your skin type in mind, that might mean looking for non-comedogenic products so that they won’t clog your pores, also look for the product to say “facial sunscreen” that way you’ll avoid the oil that is in regular sunscreen, which again can clog your pores.  The next thing you want to keep in mind is the SPF factor of the sunscreen.  Most Dermatologists would recommend a minimum of SPF 15 for daily use, using SPF 15 will protect your face against harmful UVA rays.  But if you are going on vacation and know that you will be spending a significant amount of time in direct sunlight that you may want to opt for a higher SPF, also if you plan on swimming you’ll want to make sure you buy waterproof sunscreen.

Another thing to keep in mind when purchasing a facial sunscreen is extra products such as green tea extract, pomegranate extract, Vitamin C and E.  These antioxidants will help prevent the aging of your skin!

So ladies, always remember that sunscreen is your friend and with a little effort you can find a great product that will protect your skin and will not clog your pores!  Women have so many beauty products they use today make sure you make sunscreen one of them!
