Asian Makeup Tricks and Techniques

February 28th, 2010

Make up brands do not overtly assert that they are targeting specific ethnic groups of women with their products. If they give any indication at all as to who a particular shade or type of makeup will be most appropriate, it tends to have to do more with coloring than with racial background. Nevertheless, there do exist a few Asian makeup tips that work well almost across the board. Read on to learn new ways of applying your makeup, to accentuate your best features, and celebrate your ethnicity.

Asian women tend to have two different common types of skin colorings. In some Asian cultures, having very pale skin is celebrated and was, in historical contexts, seen as a sign of affluence and social standing; the skin did not get colored from the sun, because the individual was never exposed to any kind of labor. Although it is still a popular practice for Asian women to bleach or lighten their skin, the most beautiful women will celebrate their skin tone, and bring it out with the most appropriate types of Asian skin makeup.

Most skin colorings can be divided into two categories: Those with cool undertones, and those with warm ones. Asian women can fall into either of these categories. Those with cool skin tones will be able to bring out the porcelain quality of their skin with cool colors, such as purples, shimmery blues, and pinks. Women with warm skin tones will benefit the most from warmer makeup tones, such as corals, browns, greens, and golds.

There is a simple test to determine what type of skin you have. In a room that is adequately lit, simply hold up two different colored fabrics to your face; a cream colored fabric, followed by a pure white one. The color of fabric that makes your skin appear to glow and highlights all of your features the most effectively will determine your skin type. Those that look the best against the pure white can safely assume that they have cool colorings (and should use foundations that either have a pink or blue base,) and those that look the best against the cream colored fabric have warm colorings, in which case, foundation and powder makeup bases should be yellow.

How to Get Free Sample Colored Contacts

February 22nd, 2010

Are you the owner of a pair of brown eyes, but would like to try being a green-eyed beauty for a day? Perhaps you already have a shade of emerald surrounding your pupils, but you’d like to see how you’d look with a pair of baby blues. If this sounds appealing, then colored contacts might be right for you. You can even get a free colored contacts sample, to be sure you are comfortable wearing them.

Colored contact lenses are a popular, relatively inexpensive way to experiment with a new look. A person does not have to require vision correction to be able to wear colored contacts; they are available without a corrective power for those blessed with 20/20 eyes. Some of the more popular brands are Acuvue, Freshlook, and Expressions by CooperVision. In fact, you can get a free sample of colored contacts from Acuvue or Freshlook. Visit the websites of Acuvue and Freshlook Contacts. Then click on the links for “Get Free Trial”, and follow the instructions from there. You will be able to print up a certificate to be taken to your eye care doctor, where you can redeem it for your new pair of colored lenses.

Remember, once you acquire your free colored contacts, you should never share them with your friends or family members. Contact lenses are not like shoes; they are a medical device and must be treated as such. Your eye care doctor will give you a pair that is fitted specifically for your eyes and no one else’s. Wearing lenses that do not fit properly can cause infection, corneal scratches, and corneal ulceration.

Find out more about the subject of free sample color contact lenses and see if you are able to get them for yourself. The process is not too difficult and with just a few steps, you’ll be enjoying a new eye color.

Try A Fake Tan To Look Good This Summer

February 11th, 2010

Before the weather really starts to heat up and the summer clothes come out, millions of people want to make sure that they start to get some color to their skin. This means that when the sun does shine, they can show off their bodies without fear. There are lots of ways to get a tan to help with this.

There has been a lot of talk over recent years about the health effects of UV tanning booths. With this in mind, many people are now turning to alternatives such as spray tanning to get their skin to a color that they like. There are also home options such as fake tan, and there are some good reasons why this is a great way to get a tan. Fake tan using a product that you buy from a chemist or supermarket is far cheaper than having a professional spray tan. With the latter you need to visit a beauty salon and have a number of sessions with a qualified professional. This soon puts the costs up.

The great thing about fake tan is that you can put it on a day or two before you’re going to be wanting to wear that shorter dress to show off your tanned legs. If you keep some fake tanning lotion in at home, you’ll always have some available to prepare for a big event. Fake tan comes in many forms, from lotions to wipes. Whatever method you choose, pick something that works well for you and your skin. This may mean trying a few out first to see which one gives you the results that you like.

As you can see fake tanning is a great way to get a tan from the comfort of your own home. It is easy to do in your own time, and you can save money over the cost of visiting a salon.
